Description
This test is used when an anaerobic bacterial infection is suspected in a tissue or fluid. Biological material (discharge, body cavity fluid) can be submitted on a Copan swab, anaerobic culturette swab, or in a sterile container without additives. If tissue for culture is submitted, submit 2 cm x 2 cm of tissue in an airtight sterile container like a urine specimen cup.
