Fungal Serology (Histoplasma, Blastomyces, Aspergillus), Coccidioidomycosis Screen and Titer.
Detects the presence of antibodies to Histoplasma, Blastomyces, Aspergillus, and Coccidioides spp. Detection of antigen is more sensitive than antibody for the diagnosis of Histoplasmosis and Blastomycosis.
Interferences: Marked lipemia. A titer is only reported for Coccidioides. All other results are reported as positive or negative for antibody detection. Both the Blastomyces and Histoplasma antigen tests are preferred over antibody testing as a diagnostic test.
