Tick Flicks – A “Not-So-Seasonal” Series: Episode 1: Understanding Diagnostic Options for Anaplasma spp.
In this 1-hour webinar, Drs. Holly Brown (DVM, PhD, DAVCP) and Michelle Evason (BSc, DVM, DACVIM, MRCVS) summarize key aspects of tick-borne disease pathogen screening in dogs with a focus on Anaplasma spp. and available testing options. Holly and Michelle provided resources for practical clinical management, reviewed recent peer-reviewed literature, and discussed evidence- and expert-based guidelines for this increasingly common vector-borne disease (VBD) pathogen. Through this discussion, and using real-world cases, participants learned about case management, prevention, how to address One Health concerns, and how to communicate with pet owners across the spectrum of care.
