Biography

Jan is a native of the “Show Me” state and graduated from University of Missouri in 1987. She worked in general small animal practice in New Jersey for 3 years before pursuing her clinical pathology residency and PhD at The Ohio State University. She has numerous publications and has been the recipient of several research awards. Jan joined the faculty at North Carolina State University in 1996 and continues there as an adjunct associate professor. Jan joined the Antech team in 2001 working in a multispecialty hospital and regional Antech laboratory in Cary NC. Jan also served as Department Head of Quality Assurance and Chief of Clinical Pathology at Antech for several years prior to retirement in 2023. She continues to work “part time” reading cytopathology and teaching clinical pathology at Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine. Jan is an avid scuba diver and underwater photographer and enjoys traveling with her friends.
