Specimen
1.0 mL frozen EDTA plasma in plain transport tube. Collected as whole blood in lavender top tube and spun; separated plasma transferred into plain transport tube and frozen. Include patient history.
Test Description
Determines the presence of the Parathormone-related Protein (PTHrp).
Interferences: marked hemolysis and lipemia.
Note: submit frozen plasma and label submission tube as plasma PTHrP.
Results from this test will include interpretive comments provided by MSU’s Veterinary Diagnostic Lab Endocrinology Service. Their $20 interpretation fee will be added.
