Best Practices for Antech™ Sample Submission via FedEx®

Thank you for choosing Antech as your dedicated reference laboratory partner. Please use this guide as a quick reference for your FedEx shipments in Canada.

Antech customers using FedEx® to ship specimens to our laboratory are supplied with a username and password to a FedEx portal
to create labels and schedule pickups. If you need access to the portal, contact Canada’s Transportation Manager, Patricia Garcia
([email protected]).

Packaging Specimens

A FedEx Clinical Pak must be used for FedEx shipments. Order FedEx Clinical Paks and boxes through your FedEx portal provided by Antech.

Note: FedEx will refuse leaking packages. If a package leaks during transit, it will be returned to sender and FedEx will charge a fee associated
with cleaning-up or disposing of package

  1. Place properly labeled samples with a fully completed Test Request Form (TRF) in an Antech sample bag. If shipping more than one specimen, bag each specimen separately with the patient’s TRF.
  2. Place samples into the FedEx Clinical Pak along with an ice pack to ensure samples are secure during transit.
  3. Triple-bag the specimen and ice/cool pack to prevent leakage. Include absorbent material between the primary and secondary bag.
  4. Affix the FedEx label to the outside of the Clinical Pak.

Specimen too big for the box? Please contact Antech for proper shipping instructions or visit our website at antechdiagnostics.com/reference-lab/diagnostics/pathology/.

Scheduling Pickup

Pickup requests should be submitted through the FedEx portal supplied by Antech. Please keep track of your shipment by logging the tracking number on the attached shipping log. Packages can also be tracked through this same portal.
