Test Description
A highly sensitive and specific test used to evaluate patients suspected of having acute leptospirosis. Leptospira bacteremia is brief and is followed by bacteriuria. In cases where a patient has been ill anywhere from five days to two weeks, submission of blood and urine PCR will increase diagnostic sensitivity.
