2 sterile swabs (nasal, deep pharyngeal, or conjunctival) for PCR submitted dry without transport media in white tube and 1 Copan swab in gel for Bordetella culture. All swabs sampled from same site.
Test Description
A highly sensitive and specific panel covering the more common etiological agents associated with upper respiratory signs in cats. Includes Bordetella bronchiseptica, Chlamydia felis, Feline Calicivirus (FCV), Feline Herpesvirus-1 (FHV-1), Mycoplasma felis, and PanInfluenza A virus.
Interferences: previous or current antibiotic/antiviral usage may interfere with PCR test results.
Note: complimentary culture/susceptibility testing on all submissions PCR-positive for Bordetella bronchiseptica (when the laboratory receives a Copan swab).
