Originally from Massachusetts, Dr. Ford earned a BA in English from NYU. A year after graduating, she shocked her loved ones by moving to rural Wisconsin to work in a wildlife rehabilitation hospital. That experience led her to a career in veterinary medicine. She earned her DVM from Louisiana State University, where she tracked wildlife and exotics with the goal of becoming a wildlife veterinarian. During several externships, she developed an interest in anatomic pathology, and decided to complete a pathology residency at Kansas State University. She then worked as an assistant professor at Oklahoma State University’s CVM, where she co-directed an immunopathology core and taught in several courses. Dr. Ford loves all things pathology, but her special interests include infectious diseases, large/farm animal, zoo/exotics, and respiratory pathology. She currently lives in Oklahoma with her husband and their three cats (Queso, Chips, and Pico). Outside of work, she enjoys hiking, traveling, cooking, and spending time with friends.
