Ryan Kalish is from Westchester, New York and graduated with a BA in psychology from SUNY Geneseo. He completed his veterinary degree at Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine, finishing his clinical year at North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2018. After completing a clinical pathology residency at Oklahoma State University in 2021, he was board certified by the American College of Veterinary Pathologists in clinical pathology. Since then, he has worked as a clinical pathologist for Antech Diagnostics. Ryan is passionate about diagnostic cytopathology and particularly enjoys teaching others about cytology, hematology, and clinical chemistry interpretation. He works in Pieper-Olson Veterinary Hospital in Middletown, CT, reading CBC data and cytology samples for the specialty hospital as well as digital cytology cases submitted to Antech from across the country. He is married to his wife, Stephanie, whom he met at the beginning of veterinary school in St. Kitts. Together, they have two dogs, adopted from St. Kitts, and two cats they acquired in Oklahoma. In his free time, Ryan enjoys playing basketball and darts, traveling, hiking, and reading.
