Melissa is a 1993 graduate of the University of Florida, College of Veterinary Medicine. During her DVM studies, she worked as a biological scientist in the Dept. of Comparative and Experimental Pathology, where she developed an interest in pursuing a career in pathology. She worked for 2 years as an associate veterinarian in a small animal and avian practice in Palm Bay, Florida prior to completing an Anatomic Pathology Residency at Purdue University, where she also earned a master’s degree. She completed her board certification in 2001 and is a diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Pathologists in Anatomic Pathology. Melissa is a member of the AVMA, Charles Louis Davis, D.V.M. Foundation and the ACVP. Her interest is general surgical pathology and she enjoys both large and small animal cases. Melissa joined Antech in 2003 as a staff pathologist at the NY Laboratory in Lake Success.
