Lisa is a native of Georgia, and earned her PhD in Biology at the Georgia Institute of Technology, followed by several years as a research scientist developing potential diagnostic tests for human diseases. She then attended the University of Georgia (UGA), earning her DVM in 2008. She enjoyed 5 years in small animal private practice before returning to UGA for her residency to pursue her passion for diagnostic clinical pathology. While there, she received the C.L. Davis Veterinary Pathology Scholarship Award, and the Morrow B. Thompson Award for Excellence in Clinical Pathology, and achieved board certification in 2016. She enjoyed a year as an instructor at Cornell University before returning to her home state, where she joined the Antech team in 2018. Lisa is a member of the ASVCP, ACVP, AVMA and GVMA. She lives in Athens, GA, where she shares her love of hiking with her dog and her enthusiasm for bird-watching with her cat.
