Bill is a 1979 graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, where he completed a small animal internship the following year. Wasting no time, the next day he moved to beautiful California, and has spent the majority of his career there. Bill completed a Clinical Pathology residency at University of California, Davis, achieving board certification in 1985. Following his PhD studies, Bill was appointed Assistant Professor in the Departments of Pathology and Comparative Medicine at Stanford University School of Medicine, where he was Director of the (Veterinary) Clinical Laboratories, and conducted research and teaching. Bill joined Antech in early 2001, reading cytologies and providing clinical pathology consultation. He has previously managed Antech’s San Jose laboratory and was instrumental in opening two additional Northern California laboratories. Bill has contributed to several dozen papers and book chapters in veterinary medicine and basic science areas as an author, coauthor and editor. He also authored more than a dozen patents in the United States and other countries, as well as several pharmaceutical approvals issued by the US Food and Drug Administration, and by analogous pharmaceutical regulatory agencies abroad. In his spare time, Bill continues to interact informally with University of California, Davis veterinary faculty and enjoys reading, hiking, inline skating and other sporting activities. Bill's son is a mechanical engineer and his daughter is a veterinarian (sometimes the acorn doesn't fall far from the oak tree!).
