Biography

Dr. Bacmeister graduated with a DVM from Cornell University in 1990 and completed her residency at Kansas State University. She then received her PhD from Kansas State University, and became board certified in Diplomate ACVP (Anatomic Pathology). In 1999- 2000, Dr. Bacmeister completed her post-doctoral fellowship at the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology in Washington, D.C. Dr. Bacmeister worked in private practice for three years and has a special interest in avian and exotics, as well as surgical and oncopathology. She is a member of the following professional societies: AVMA, ACVP, VCS, AAV, AAZV, WDA, and IAAAA.. She has lost two dogs to cancer and believes passionately in making this a better world for pets and people by being a part of the fight against cancer. She lives in California with two shelter dogs and enjoys taking them on long walks and to the beach and volunteering.
