Biography

Dr. Cavender has worked as a diagnostic veterinary anatomic pathologist since 2007 at Utah State University (USU), followed by work in wildlife pathology with the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources and diagnostic veterinary anatomic pathologist at IDEXX Laboratories before joining Antech Diagnostics in 2025. Dr. Cavender received her DVM degree from Washington State University and after 2 years in private practice focused on small animal and emergency medicine, she completed her veterinary anatomic pathology residency at USU. Dr. Cavender is a board-certified anatomic pathologist (boarded in 2011) and has strong interest in oncologic pathology, wildlife pathology, dermatopathology, oral pathology and immunohistochemistry.
