Biography

Dr. Matthews grew up in a small town in Newfoundland, Canada. She attended the Atlantic Veterinary College and graduated as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 2002. Following veterinary school, Dr. Matthews worked as a small animal practitioner at the Baccalieu Trail Animal Hospital in Newfoundland and was accepted into a diagnostic imaging residency at Tufts Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine in North Grafton, MA in 2004. After successful completion of her residency in 2007, Dr. Matthews was an Assistant Professor of Radiology at the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine from 2007-2011 and at the Atlantic Veterinary College from 2011-2014. Her imaging interests include gastrointestinal ultrasound, CT and MRI.Currently, Dr. Matthews resides back in Newfoundland with her husband, son and golden retriever, where she currently enjoys working in the field of teleradiology. In her spare time, Dr. Matthews enjoys spending time with her family, camping, watercolour and knitting.
