Set Sokol

Set received an undergraduate degree in biology at the University of Pennsylvania and his DVM at Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2013. He continued on at Cornell for residency training in anatomic pathology at the New York State Animal Health Diagnostic Laboratory, where he developed interests in zoo and wildlife pathology and dermatopathology. He then joined the San Diego Zoo for two years as the Steel endowed pathology fellow, building familiarity with the diseases of avian, reptile, and exotic ruminant species, among others. He became a diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Pathologists in 2016. Set joined Antech Diagnostics in 2017 as a staff pathologist and is currently based in the Fountain Valley, CA lab. His professional interests include zoo-exotic animal pathology, dermatopathology, and hepatobiliary pathology. Set enjoys birding, back-country camping, biking, and when time allows, loading his touring panniers with tinned sardines and camping equipment and cycling through distant lands.
