Alana Pavuk

Alana earned her DVM from North Carolina State University in 2009, and practiced small animal medicine in North Carolina for one year prior to pursuing a pathology residency at Colorado State University. She also received a Master’s degree from Colorado State University for her work investigating a potential genetic predisposition for high-grade mast cell tumors in Chinese Shar-Pei dogs. She became board certified in 2013, and started working for Antech in 2014, while continuing as a small animal practitioner. She is no longer in private practice, but still maintains the perspective of a practicing veterinarian through her diagnostic work. Alana is a member of the ACVP, as well as a contributing member of the Mast Cell Tumor Subgroup of the Veterinary Cancer Society’s Oncology- Pathology Working Group. Her interests include oncopathology, especially mast cell tumors, oral tumors, and digital tumors, and respiratory pathology. Alana currently resides in Hillsborough, NC, with her husband, daughter, and one cat, Sawyer. Outside of professional pursuits, Alana enjoys hiking, Pilates, and above all, trail running through the mountains
