In this 1-hour CE Webinar, Dr. Constantaras will provide an overview of Artificial Intelligence (AI), the details of Machine Learning (ML) and Deep Learning (DL), and how these technologies differ in both development and application. Both the interpretive and non-interpretive benefits of using AI as a tool to read intraoral dental radiographs will be discussed in detail. Focus will be on how to effectively use AI technology as a tool in dental radiograph interpretation, using case-based discussions that focus on felines.

Examples are included to highlight the benefits and limitations of the technology. Emphasis will be placed on incorporating the dental radiographs, results of dental charting, the overall health status of the patient, and the clinician’s clinical judgement to identify pathology and formulate a diagnostic and treatment plan, with an emphasis on the unique anatomy and pathologies in cats.

Marika Constantaras, DVM, MS, DAVDC 

Le Dr Marika Constantaras est dentiste vétérinaire et responsable du service de télémédecine dentaire au Antech. Elle collabore également avec le groupe MARS Next Generation Technologies pour développer l'intelligence artificielle en imagerie dentaire vétérinaire. Elle est également directrice d'un hôpital vétérinaire spécialisé où elle exerce comme dentiste vétérinaire. Le Dr Constantaras est titulaire d'un doctorat en médecine vétérinaire et d'une maîtrise de l'Université de l'Illinois à Champaign-Urbana. Après cinq ans passés à soigner des animaux de compagnie dans un grand cabinet privé à Chicago, elle a effectué un internat de trois ans en dentisterie et chirurgie buccale avant d'obtenir le diplôme de l'American Veterinary Dental College. Le Dr Constantaras réside actuellement à Hawaï, où elle et son mari, Sean, élèvent leurs trois enfants. Ils ont également un golden retriever croisé qui adore la randonnée et quatre lapins gourmands. Pendant son temps libre, elle aime jouer et entraîner au football, pratiquer le jiu-jitsu, surfer et ranger les meubles.
