
Dr. Christine Christensen is the Assistant Director of Anatomic Pathology for the East Coast. She holds bachelor’s degrees in wildlife science, biology, and animal science from Virginia Tech, earned in 1994 and 1996. She received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in 2000 and subsequently commissioned as a Captain in the U.S. Army Veterinary Corps. Dr. Christensen completed a residency in anatomic pathology at the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology and achieved board-certification in 2010. She later earned a Master of Science in Veterinary Forensic Science from the University of Florida in 2021. Over the course of a distinguished 25-year active-duty career, Dr. Christensen rose to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel, serving as a clinical veterinarian, diagnostic pathologist, and biomedical research pathologist. She is a member of both the American College of Veterinary Pathologists and the American Veterinary Medical Association. In her free time, she enjoys long-distance running and spending time with her family, two Great Pyrenees, and five cats.
