| Comments |
The parasite is cyclical and transient, therefore a negative observation does not rule out the presence
of mycoplasma. The presence of this parasite is often associated with immunodeficiency (e.g., FeLV
infection). The longer the sample sits in LT, the fewer parasites are seen on the RBC. Heparinized
samples are not acceptable for this test. |
