Interpretive Guidelines |
Most domestic cats will have circulating Toxoplasma gondii DNA within 4
weeks of infection. Organisms may be released from tissue cysts resulting in intermittent positive
tests for months to years in some cats. The presence of circulating organisms has not been found to
correlate with clinical disease. Detection of organism in CSF or aqueous humor may be more significant
than blood. |
